Alvoria, Valora – Today, the Alvoria local government unveiled its first fully autonomous courtroom, is located in the western part heart of the capital. The project, directed by Mapple Technologies Arcandias (MTA) and Vanguard Defense Systems (VDS), is being called the next step towards a more efficient and impartial Arcandias. The courtroom, nicknamed LexisOne, replaces human judges, clerks, and bailiffs with a fully AI-operated judicial system capable of processing up to 500 cases a day. The state-of-the-art facility features a sleek, minimalist design, with defendants and prosecutors interacting with an algorithm capable of rendering a decision in no more than 5 minutes.
Mapple’s spokesperson, Alexis Cruz, emphasized that LexisOne represents the “future of justice” in Arcandias. “This is about removing bias, speeding up case processing, and ensuring the law is applied fairly. Humans make mistakes; LexisOne does not,” Cruz said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Critics, however, have raised concerns about the courtroom’s reliance on algorithms, particularly one co-developed with VDS, known for its work in defense. Some have questioned whether the system’s decisions may favor corporate interests over individual rights. Curz responded to the criticism by saying “We understand there will always be skeptics, but let’s face it: a world where courts don’t need to take ‘lunch breaks’ benefits everyone,”

How will it work?
AI Judge (Lexis): A neural-network-based decision-maker trained on every Arcandian legal precedent.
Virtual Witness Booths: Witnesses participate remotely, with AI voice analysis to detect potential deception.
Automated Sentencing: Real-time computation of penalties based on input data, severity of crimes, and economic circumstances.
Defendants also have the option to appeal decisions within a 10-minute post-verdict window, overseen by an identical AI in a secondary room.
Outside the courtroom, citizens gathered to witness history in the making. “I’ve always trusted a judge who could look me in the eye, not scan my face,” said Maria Gomez, a small-business owner. Still, others were more optimistic. “If this means my traffic ticket gets resolved in 10 minutes instead of 10 months, sign me up!” said local delivery driver Carlos Vega. For better or worse, LexisOne is here to stay, with plans to replicate its design in all major Arcandian cities by 2030.
